The Patagonia Green Expedition is a twelve day trip to Argentina, where ten participants will partake in adventure, travel, philanthropic excursions, and hands-on research on two different glaciers. Each trip includes daily yoga, team briefings, free time to explore, co-working spaces to stay up to date on work back home, and once in a lifetime excursions.
By bringing ten people to Perito Moreno and Glacier Vespigiani, we will be able to collect twenty different ice and water samples to be analyzed using Top Score's lab. This data and results will be shared in partnership with Scripps Instution of Oceanography, with a goal to gather and share the following information:
Scientific Knowledge: The research trip will contribute valuable data to the scientific community, helping to better understand the glacier's health and the surrounding environment. This information will guide conservation efforts and policy decisions.
Environmental Awareness: The trip will raise awareness about the importance of preserving pristine environments like Perito Moreno Glacier. The researchers will gain a deep appreciation for the fragile balance of ecosystems and the potential threats posed by water contamination.
Community Engagement: The research findings can be shared with local communities to promote sustainable practices and raise awareness about the importance of water quality and conservation.
Educational Outreach: The trip will provide an opportunity for educational outreach and engagement with schools and institutions, inspiring future generations to protect natural wonders like Perito Moreno Glacier.
The upcoming research trip to Perito Moreno Glacier, coupled with the comprehensive analysis of water quality using the Tap Score test package, exemplifies the dedication of the team to environmental conservation and scientific discovery. By examining water quality in this pristine environment, the research will contribute to a deeper understanding of the glacier's health and the broader ecological implications of human activity in the region. This knowledge will be invaluable for the preservation of this natural wonder and will serve as a reminder of the importance of responsible stewardship of our planet's fragile ecosystems.
We will be testing for over 180 different data points including:

The data will be published in partnership with www.Green.org, as well as Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and each person on the expedition will be a featured speaker at a future Green Summit.
Apply today to see if you are a good fit for the team. We are only accepting 10 people to join this trip. If approved, you will be sent an online invoice, which must be paid within 7 days to secure your spot.
Two months prior to the trip, we will hold our first team meeting via Zoom, where a U.S. Geological Survey Scientist will explain the importance of the trip in big picture terms - what is currently happening with the glaciers, why collecting this data is important, and how to use this data in positive and effective ways. Next, we will have a second team Zoom meeting with Lesley Anderson, Arctic Research Scentist, who will walk us through the scientific process, and the data collection process for the trip. Last, you will receive your data collection kit, trip itinerary, and trip information package in the mail about one month prior to the trip.
We will be in Argentina for a total of 12 days. During that time you will have the opportunity to explore Buenos Aires, help restore an ecological park in one of the densest concrete cities in the world, and explore two glaciers in El Chalten and El Calafate, where we will collect our data on the glaciers. You will have free time to explore the areas and meet locals, and have wifi and co-working access to stay up to date on work if you choose to.
After the trip, you will receive the data from the samples you collected. Lesley will help you analyze the data, and present it in a way that the general public and other scientists can digest it. This will be shared on Green.org, and you will have an opportunity to speak at a future Green Summit about your experience.

Green Expeditions specializes in ten day research, philanthropic, and adventure trips that bring leaders to places most affected by climate change in order to directly help with hands on action and learn directly from local scientists and researchers.
Green Expeditions include sustainable lodging, travel between locations, three custom excursions, breakfast everyday, health and fitness opportunities, networking opportunities, and free time to explore.
Green Expeditions has three trips planned for 2024. This includes a trip to Patagonia, a trip to the Amazon Rainforest, and a trip to the Caribbean Islands.
We are partnered with One Tree Planted to offset all carbon emissions from the entire trip. On top of that, we stay in eco friendly and sustainable lodging, eat local foods, and partner with local non-profits and researchers to support their goals of improving some of the post impacted places on the planet.
All hotels and lodging, travel between locations, breakfast, a welcome dinner, a farewell dinner, three excursions, daily optional workout/exercise/yoga.
Travel to and from the destination prior to and after the trip starts, additional food, drinks, and alcohol, optional excursions on free days, and spending money on souvenirs.
Yes - there will be plenty of free time to work and explore the areas on your own.
